The Vanuatu Citizenship by Investment program was established in 2017, making it one of the latest citizenship by investment programs and the only one of its kind in the South Pacific region. The legal framework of the program falls under the Citizenship by Investment Act [CAP 112], allowing individuals to legally seek a citizenship through financial contribution. Vanuatu allows for dual nationality, and it is one of the few fast tracked citizenship routes in the world, issuing direct citizenship without residency requirements.

Process & Time to Citizenship
Document Collection (approximately 3 - 4 weeks)
The initial step is the collection of required documents set forth by the government for submission
Submission of File (approximately 1 week)
Once the documents are collected, the file is sent to the Unit for submission
Due Diligence (approximately 3 - 4 months)
Once the file is submitted, the government sends it out to a third party contractor to conduct due diligence
Bank Clearance of Funds (approximately 1 - 3 weeks)
Once the due diligence is finalized and the file is approved, the required financial contribution must be paid and goes through a bank clearance process
Oath Taking Ceremony (approximately 30 min)
Once the funds clear, a virtual oath taking ceremony is conducted
Citizenship & Passport Issuance (approximately 1 month)
Once the the oath taking ceremony is conducted, the government issues the Citizenship Certificate and Passport
