The Maltese Permanent Residence program was established in 2015 allowing non - EU nationals to legally seek residence through financial contribution, be it through a property purchase option or a property rental option. The applicant for residency may include his immediate family (spouse, dependent children, and parents). Residency permits are renewed every five years, under the condition that the chosen investment is still in place.

Options: Property Purchase + Government Contribution or Property Rental + Government Contribution

  • Option 1: Property Purchase option starts at EUR 300,000 + EUR 77,500 in government contribution/administrative fees

  • Option 2: Property Rental option starts at EUR 10,000 (per annum for five years) + EUR 100,000 in government contribution/administrative fees

  • Further, all options have additional government and legal fees

Process & time to residence

  • Step 1: Choose and make investment

  • Step 2: Submit required documents with residency application

  • Step 3: Verification and issuance of residency permit

    *Issuance of residence is approximately 5 - 7 months after submission of application
